Five TREATYOSELF Gluten-Free Goodies!

When I found out I could no longer eat gluten I was simultaneously relieved that there was finally an answer to my health issues and devastated that I could no longer eat freshly made, still-warm flour tortillas.

The past few years have been tough getting used to this unwanted lifestyle, but luckily there are so.many.gluten.free.treats. I get so excited when I see a new product to try! Even when traveling, I research the hell out of gluten free eats to see what I can enjoy. It actually makes eating out much more fun.

After much trial and error, I’ve come up with a list of my top 5 favorite #treatyourself goodies. Key word is TREAT YO SELF so don’t judge me ;)

1. Bread Srsly: http://www.breadsrsly.com

“I LOVE BREADDDDD!” –Oprah and also me.

Based out of San Francisco, this little company has a 100% dedicated gluten-free kitchen and all of their products are certified gluten-free by GFCO and the Celiac Support Association.  It’s all sourdough and I’ve used it for sandwiches, toast with pb, with pasta, and French toast! My favorite is the sweet onion loaf but they are all really tasty.  Right now you can only find their products in CA and a few surrounding states but you can order online from anywhere!

2. FoMu http://www.fomuicecream.com/

It’s hard to go wrong with ice cream, but the thing I love most about this company is that they consider the earth just as much as the customer. With the made from scratch ingredients, to the eco-friendly packaging, you can feel good about eating a pint of this ice cream all by yourself. Unfortunately not all of their ice cream is gluten free, but everything is easily labeled with allergens on their website. My favorite is the salted caramel. They ship all over the US and have a few storefronts in Boston and select retailers carry their products in the New England area.

3. DŌ https://www.cookiedonyc.com

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to try something than I was when I tried DŌ. I spent way too much time looking at their Instagram page and drooling over their cookie doughs before finally tasting it one hot summer day on a trip to NYC. This stuff is sweet and it’s dense so I recommend getting a small one to start off so you don’t have a sugar crash! Right now they have only 4 gluten free options but in all honesty, I am not mad because I think I would be overwhelmed if there were too many choices. Also, you can suggest a flavor so get on it and suggest a delicious gluten free one! (But first check their past flavors to make sure you aren’t repeating). Lastly, they have the cutest packaging so you can send your friends a little pack as a birthday gift, or my personal favorite, ask someone to be your bridesmaid with their Gluten Free 4 Pack. How genius is that? I’ll be patiently waiting for my heavenly DŌ bridesmaid proposal, thanks.

4. Cappello’s https://cappellos.com/

If you’ve ever bitten into a piece of gluten free pizza and had thoughts of cardboard and sadness running through your head, you will not regret Cappello’s pizza dough. Their stuff isn’t cheap, but that’s why this post is about treating your self.  They also have delicious pasta (fettuccini, gnocci, and lasagna sheets) and tons of recipes on their website for tasty Italian gluten free meals. They have retailers all over the US so you can buy in store, or order online if they don’t have a location near you.  I feel I should also mention they have cookie dough (clearly I have an obsession with sweets) and although I haven’t tried it yet, I wholeheartedly believe it’s just as mouthwatering as their pizza and pasta.

5. Sonoma Creamery https://www.sonomacreamery.com/cheese-crisps

I happened across these cheese crisps in Big Lots, which is essentially like a mix between Walmart and Dollar Tree I guess? I don’t know-they have all kinds of discounted stuff and you can sometimes find some good gluten free products there. I had never heard of these but they looked too good to pass up and I instantly regretted buying them after the first bite. They were so freaking good and the package was so small for the price, that I knew this would be a treatyoself treat., but they are so dang good. They also have cheese crisp bars and little crispies you can top on soup and everything is gluten free. Yay!

I’d love to hear what your favorite gluten free products are. I am always on the search for more!
